It's just not worth the effort, especially for a Nissan. You need to get airbags, you need to get many inspections, the list just goes on and on.

Depends on what year Skyline. If you want one between 89-94, they aren't legal. No amount of money will make them legal. If you want one from 95-98, then there's a chance…It has to be built between 1/96 and 6/98. And even then, you would spend more on modifications to get it legal than you would buy the car for. If you want one from 99-02, sorry, not happening. No money will make it legal. If you want a 2003+, well now that's easy. They were already sold in the USA in large numbers (relatively speaking). The Nissan Skyline from 2003+ was sold in the USA as the Infiniti G. The G35, both coupe and sedan, are just re-badged Nissan Skyline 350GTs. The G37 is a Skyline 370GT.
It's impossible actually. Due to government regulations about crash testing and whatnot, and the fact that the skyline has never been through those tests, it's illegal to own one in the United States.
